1 + 1: the formula with which they will seek to combat Lobesia Botrana in the O'Higgins region
Joint work between private and government seeks to control the agricultural pest in our country affects grapes, blueberries and plums.
A few days ago different national authorities and the O'Higgins Region met at the Fundo Los Fresnos de Rancagua, to launch the season against the spread of the lobesia botrana that seeks to control the agricultural pest that in our country affects grapes, blueberries and plums.
On the occasion, the national director of the SAG, Ángel Sartori, mentioned that "One of the novelties for this season is that the SAG is promoting the 1 + 1 modality regarding sexual confusion. This means that for each confuser that puts the Service, the producer puts another, thus duplicating the coverage. This reflects that the joint work between the sector and private is the key to control lobesia".
For this year, the budget for the Control Program lobesia botrana increased from $ 7.000 million in 2014, to $ 9.200 million for the current season, and from there an 33% of the resources are being used in the installation and supervision of this device, with the aim of covering 30.000 has productive between the regions of Coquimbo to Biobío.
On this, the undersecretary of Agriculture, Claudio Ternicier, said that "we concur with action and resources to be able to make effective this program of official control of lobesia botrana, through the sexual confounders, and all, the public world and the producers and guilds, we have concurred with resources to make the application of this technique what more extensive possible"
For his part, the regional director (TyP) of the SAG, Rodrigo Sotomayor, said that "We intend that the O'Higgins region cover 347 properties with a surface area of approximately 7 hectares. Eighty-five percent of the farms correspond to grapevines, 257 percent to blueberries and 85 percent to plums".
