5,8% Chilean fresh fruit exports grow in the 2021-2022 season
According to information provided by the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX), so far this season of the country's fruit exports from 2021-2022, Chile has sent 526.978 tons to the world, a figure that is 5,8 % higher than that sent to the same period of last season (2020-2021).
The Far East is the main destination, with the reception of 172.928 tons of national fruits, experiencing a drop of -15,52% compared to last year, keeping a 33% share in total shipments to the world. In a second place, the United States is located with the reception of 148.807 tons, reflecting an increase of 56% and a participation of 28%.
In third place is Latin America with 107.667 tons, an increase of 10% and 20% participation. For its part, Europe is in a fourth position, with 91.939 tons, showing a growth of 24%, and a participation of 17%.
Finally there are: Canada with 4.597 tons and a fall of -25,1%; and the Middle East with 1.040 tons and an increase of 152%.
The main fruits of the season shipped to date are: cherries with 166.722 tons, avocados with 90.992 tons, apples with 87.868 tons, blueberries with 34.026 tons and table grapes with 3.893 tons.
