Argentina: «Perdimos un 15% de la superficie productiva en Concordia»

De cara a lo que será la cosecha de este 2017, el presidente de la Asociación de Productores de Arándanos de la Mesopotamia Argentina, Alejandro Pannunzio adelantó que la mayoría de los representantes del sector «we have very good expectations«.

Durante el 2016, cerca de 2 millones de kilos de arándano quedaron sin cosechar, por la competitividad de Perú, la caída de los precios y la suba de costos en Argentina. Por entonces, desde la propia APAMA calificaron la situación como «the biggest stagnation after years of growth«. Precisó, además, que entre el año 2016 y 2017, «we lost an 15% of the productive area in Concordia«.
A pesar de ese duro golpe, los productores que siguen en carrera «We try to have a product with the highest possible quality, because what we have in mind is that the one who decides our luck is the person when a gondola goes, where everyone looks for quality«, sostuvo el entrevistado.

Pannunzio reiteró que la producción sigue lidiando con «a very high internal cost«, a lo que se suma que «nuestro principal competidor, Perú, aumenta su oferta en el mercado y eso va a hacer descender los precios». Igualmente, los arandaneros locales se apoyan en que «desde el punto de vista productivo estamos en una muy buena situación», por lo que serán determinantes «esas variables que nosotros no manejamos«He concluded.
