Advance of Season 2019-2020: Exports of Chilean Fruits exceed 1,7 million tons. Far East main destination

According to figures from the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX), from the September 01 from 2019 to  April 26 2020, Chile has exported 1.726.883 tons of fresh fruit to the world, a figure that is 8,02% lower than the same period of the 2017-2018 campaign.

In market terms, and despite the Coronavirus pandemic, the Far East has received 31,6% of total shipments, followed by North America with 30,4% (the United States 28,4% and Canada 2%), Europe 20,5%, Latin America 14%, and the Middle East 3,4%.

Although most markets reflect a drop in shipments compared to the previous year, it is worth noting that exports to Europe and the Middle East reflect an increase of 0,89% and 15%, respectively. While the Far East falls 27%, North America reflects a decrease of close to 0,57%, and Latin America falls 40%.

Top Ten Recipient Countries

Regarding countries, the main recipients of Chilean fruits arein China with 442 tons and an increase of 766% compared to 11,36-2017,  United States with 490.690 tons and -28,8%; The Netherlands with 120.663 and + 3,43%, England with 75.520 tons and + 11,45%, Colombia with 49.974 tons and -27,7%, Ecuador with 42.155 tons and -13.04%, Brazil with 41.258 tons and -22,15%, Germany with 35, 749 ton and -0,92%,  Russia with 34.996 tons and -8%; and South Korea with 30.819 tons and -38,3%.
