North Bay returns a record $16,7 million to its producer-owners
North Bay, a grower-owned cooperative focused on marketing high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables, announced the distribution of a sponsorship dividend of USD 16.674.000 to its grower-owners.
Since it began paying sponsorship dividends in 1991, the cooperative has returned USD 108.931.000 to its members, reinforcing its commitment to working for the benefit of the farmers who own the business and to contributing to the future development of the organization.
“For North Bay to succeed, our farmers must succeed first and foremost. The annual sponsorship dividend we are able to return to our members each year helps them reinvest in their farming operations, ensuring their continuity for the future,” said Nick Osmulski, president of North Bay.
Unlike traditional fresh produce marketing companies, North Bay's grower-owned structure allows the cooperative's objectives to align with those of the farms that produce its fruits and vegetables. This model fosters investments that benefit growers, customers, and the cooperative itself.
In addition to its financial commitments to producers, North Bay's cooperative structure promotes the exchange of technology and agronomic expertise among its farms, one of the factors the company highlights as key to its development.
Investment for future growth
North Bay continues to invest in various areas of its operations with the aim of strengthening the cooperative and preparing it for a new stage of growth.
Recent investments include:
- expansion of proprietary premium varietal programs in blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples and other products;
- continuous development of premium genetics, including SEKOYA® blueberries and ERANDY® blackberries;
- incorporation of packaging technology and improvements in operational efficiency;
- construction of a new refrigeration facility in Miami, Florida, which will support South American imports from North Bay to the United States;
- construction of new packing facilities and offices to support the company's apple operations;
- strategic partnerships with producers in key production regions;
- continuous innovation in sustainable packaging and consumer participation.
The annual sponsorship dividend and these investments reflect North Bay's commitment to reinvesting in both its grower-owners and the long-term success of the cooperative. Together, these actions strengthen the company's ability to offer high-quality products and create sustainable value for growers, customers, and retail partners.
“North Bay is experiencing tremendous growth right now, globally and across all areas of the business. We are in a favorable position, where the cooperative’s structure and financial strength allow us to support this growth through continuous advancements in genetics, technology, and infrastructure, without relying on outside investors. That seems to be quite unique in today’s business world,” Osmulski added.

A new brand based on the same values
This year's dividend announcement comes on top of another important milestone for the company: the launch of North Bay's new corporate identity.
The renewed brand reflects the evolution of the company and, at the same time, reinforces the values that have guided the cooperative for more than four decades: putting farmers first, delivering high-quality products, driving innovation and strengthening relationships from the field to the market.
The new identity presents a farmer-centric image and incorporates interactive packaging with augmented reality, designed to connect consumers directly with North Bay farms and the producers behind each product.
As North Bay continues to grow, the new brand delivers a unified platform to share those stories and highlight the people who make the cooperative unique.
“We began this rebranding process with the goal of creating a logo and identity that better represent who we are as a company and that allows us to communicate that to farmers, customers, and consumers around the world. We are very excited about the outcome of this change and thank the North Bay growers for their participation and trust in allowing us to make such a significant transformation,” said Osmulski.

Looking ahead
North Bay continues to expand its portfolio of premium products, along with new investments in people, technology, and partnerships with producers.
The expansion of production area, the development of proprietary varieties, and operational improvements position the cooperative to respond to the growing demand for high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables in North America and other markets.
The cooperative maintains its commitment to generating value for its customers and, at the same time, creating long-term opportunities for the producer families who own and are an essential part of the business's growth.
