Agro 4.0 takes center stage: A university congress will bring together leaders of digital and sustainable agriculture at Agrofest 2025.

Lima, May 2025 – The International Agricultural University Congress (CIUA) will hold its third edition on June 13 as part of Agrofest 2025, the most important event on modern agriculture in Peru.
Under the title "Agro 4.0: Digital Transformation and Circular Economy for the Agriculture of the Future," the meeting will bring together national and international specialists to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the sector in the era of technological innovation.

The event will feature prominent figures such as Américo Guevara, rector of the National Agrarian University of La Molina; Hugo Chavarría, manager of the IICA Innovation and Bioeconomy Program and coordinator of the Latin American Bioeconomy Network; Luis Quirós, executive director of the Master's in Agribusiness at ESAN; Arturo González de Cosío, professor of Monterrey Technology, among other leading figures in modern agriculture.

Another highlight of the day will be the panel "European Union Circular Economy and Sustainable Business Program," which will address initiatives and success stories driven by international cooperation. This panel will showcase successful cases implemented by the program, such as those of Abel Gutarra, general manager of Agrodelfo, and Dioni Suárez, general manager of the Kivinaki Agricultural Cooperative. The panel will be moderated by Omar Siabato, leader of the Sustainable Agri-Food Systems team of the European Union Sustainable Business Program.

Throughout the event, topics such as the potential of bioentrepreneurship to boost family farming, the evolution of olive growing in Peru as an example of the circular economy, and the role of artificial intelligence and data in modernizing agriculture, among others, will be addressed. The presentations and discussions will offer a comprehensive look at the challenges and opportunities facing agriculture in the future.
The CIUA is consolidating its position as a space that articulates knowledge, experience, and commitment to advance toward more sustainable and inclusive agriculture, with the active participation of students, academics, and industry leaders.
