FIRE ALERT

METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS

Between Saturday 03 and Monday 05 January 2015, a meteorological condition of great atmospheric stability will occur with an increase in maximum temperatures and a decrease in relative humidity, a condition that favors the spread of forest fires in the area between the Coquimbo and Biobío Regions.

This condition will be significant mainly in the valleys of the intermediate depression and pre-Cordilleran sectors of the aforementioned regions, with maximum temperatures that will reach values between 30 and 35 degrees.

Agrometeorological Commentary:

According to the expected thermal values, the dryness of the herbaceous strata and the low environmental humidity, it is necessary to adopt the maximum precautions, in order to prevent and avoid the occurrence of forest fires, which ecologically damage the potentially affected sectors. . Therefore, it is indicated to both farmers, hikers and the general public, who travel or work in field sectors sensitive to this eventuality, to maximize their degree of care with respect to pastures, native shrubs and forest plantations likely to be lost by incineration
