Amine Bennani will represent Morocco at the Italian Berry Day

Amine bennani, President of the Red Fruit Producers of Morocco, will participate by exposing on the reality of the Moroccan blueberry industry in the Italian Berry Day. It is the first international event on berries in Italy and the September 8 in the town of Rimini.

The Italian Berry Day event, born from the collaboration between Macfrut and NCX Drahorad, besides being the first related international event specifically with berries, is organized to take place in different ways: the international congress, the exhibition area, thematic workshops and an exhibition of berries at the end.

An authoritative voice

Bennani leads the Moroccan Association of Red Fruit Producers (AMPFR) and was a participant in the activities of the International Blueberry Month, organized by Blueberries Consulting, with the talk "Differentiation factors of the Moroccan industry", and will be one of the most likely exponents in the International Blueberry Seminars 2022 already scheduled.

«It will be a pleasure for me to be present at the Italian Berry Day and explain the situation and the opportunities offered by the red fruit sector in Morocco," declared the Moroccan leader when confirming his participation as a speaker at the international conference, commenting regarding his industry that approximately 90% of Moroccan production is destined for export, mainly to Europe. “The United Kingdom is our main market, but exports to other destinations are also increasing, through Spain or directly to the main markets, including Italy. This last year we began to develop the Persian Gulf, Russia and the Asian continent ”, he stated.

After covering the most relevant topics for the industry, in which Morocco will present an interesting combination of the start of the season and proximity to the Italian market, the program will conclude with technical studies and reports on the quality aspects of the fruit, which will be analyzed from two aspects linked to the post-harvest stage, such as selection and packaging.

In the afternoon, the event will continue with technical workshops that will cover the most innovative coating alternatives to create the most suitable microclimate for the berry cultivation and thus guarantee better yields and higher quality of the fruit.

Among the curiosities of this "Italian berry day", innovative active packaging trials will be shown and participants will also be able to see a selection of berries for sale in Milan, in a kind of virtual shopping trip which will take you to 16 supermarkets in the Lombard capital.

The event will be a unique opportunity to know the most important trends, compare the developments and update information and knowledge with respect to the main topics of the industry of berries in Italy and globally.
