Peruvian blueberries will enter the Taiwan market

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Lima reported that the Agriculture Council of Taiwán has promulgated “The Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Fresh Blueberries from Peru”, which means that the green light was given for the entry of blueberries Peruvians to the Taiwanese market.

It should be noted that Taiwan has a market of 13,7 million dollars for blueberries, and most come from United States y Chile.

It is also important to mention that Taiwan is one of the twenty most commercial countries in the world, with its import around 300 billion dollars.

Peru and Taiwan maintained a commercial exchange of 474 million dollars in 2019, where Peru exported 244 million dollars. Between the products which are exported to Taiwan, are the grapeasparagusQuinoa, coffee, etc.

“Taiwan is willing to work with Peru to improve its commercial development, and for this it would be ideal to have Peru's support for Taiwan to enter the Transpacific Agreement (CPTPP), as the economic bloc composed of Peru, Japan and other economies , it would be a more efficient and useful way to strengthen the commercial link, ”said the office.

Finally, he pointed out that the industries and businesses between both parties are complementary to each other, since high-quality agricultural products such as fishery products are exported from Peru, and exports side a lot, since not only They will reduce tariff rates, but it would also lead to the opening of new business opportunities that would contribute to intensify investment cooperation in various industries.
