Argentina: How do you prepare for this year's harvest?
APAMA seeks to perfect the task of the technical specialists who work with each producer. It was defined to unlock commercial issues linked to technical aspects, such as the quality of the fruit.
The positioning of the Argentine blueberry in the world is a reality, and the blueberry producers of Mesopotamia seek to consolidate themselves in the international market. For this year, the objective is to advance in the improvement of the quality of the fruit that is produced in the region. Basically it seeks to recover advantage against competitors from the continent that last year exceeded expected export levels.
For that, the Association of Blueberry Growers began the season in March planning training and a series of actions linked to technical aspects that seek to have a positive rebound in the marketing stage, when the 2017 harvest begins.
The new president of the entity, Alejandro Pannunzio, headed with his deputy, Omar Chiarello, a working meeting with the engineers and technicians who advise each of the associated producers. Among the topics studied, progress was made in the procedures for the extension of authorization of phytosanitary products, the permanent monitoring program of Mosca and the links with SENASA, among other issues.
In addition, a program of continuous training for the technicians of the associated companies was begun in order to guarantee a permanent preparation of the collaborators.
This year the APAMA Technical Conference returns
Finally, the date was defined for the eighth edition of the Technical Days that the organization organizes each year. In this opportunity, it will be the 10 and 11 days of August, instead of defining. Last year, the conference had been interrupted due to the completion of the IBO Congress in the city of Concordia and Salto.
