Argentina: The Government of Río Negro proposes the total exemption of Gross Income for fruit growing

The initiative also provides for the suspension of the Fiscal Consensus signed between the Nation and the provinces.

El Río Negro Government He proposed today the total exemption of the payment of Gross Income for the production of pears and apples that will be crystallized in a bill that will be raised in the next hours to the provincial legislature.

Rio Negro fruit production "is the great engine for generating intensive labor and social support, with more than 200 wages per hectare at all stages," said the governor. Arabela Racing.

The measure adds benefits for agricultural and forestry producers, rural contractors, packing sheds, refrigerators, warehouses, juicers, fishermen, ice factories, packaging manufacturing, mining producers and sawmills, among others. As reported, the proposal "improves the competitiveness of companies by reducing the negative impact generated by this tax, on the necessary inputs for the production of exportable goods."

The idea is to also achieve an impact on the price drop in the domestic market, which generates a comparative advantage for the Rio Negro producer. "Fruit growing in particular offers raw material to a host of industries that are taxed, so we cannot put the main provider of the rest of the services at risk," explained the governor. The Río Negro president added that "we cannot look at fruit growing as a mere primary activity, but as one with high added value."

From the government they assured that "this measure is in tune with the implementation of the National Plan to Fight Hunger, launched by the National Government and where the province will have a strong participation."
