Argentina: The hail again affected the production of Concord blueberries

The fall of hail that occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Concordia, affected the production of blueberries, mainly in the area of Yuquerí, causing a damage to the fruit of approximately 15%.

"While it is premature to give accurate data, we believe it is urgent that we can activate the installation of the anti-hail net because the evidence shows that the fall of stone is not unusual as in previous times", Said Omar Chiarello, president of the Association of Blueberry Producers of the Mesopotamia Argentina (APAMA).

Chiarello, along with Elena Rosales, director of Agriculture of the province of Entre Ríos, are traveling through the affected area making the survey before producers.
