The blueberry campaign of the Tucumán airport is successful
29/10/2015
A recent campaign, started on October 1, with an opening flight carrying 52 tons of blueberries from Tucumán, Argentina, to Miami, United States, has started smoothly.
Since July, products have been exported from Ezeiza airport (by air) and from the port of Buenos Aires (by sea). Fernando Martorell, responsible for foreign trade IDEP (Institute of Productive Development of Tucumán), confirms this.
It has been reported that the controls carried out by the customs of Tucumán, through its mobile scanner, Senasa, Aphis and PSA are carried out without problems.
«The cargo terminal works very well, if we consider the cold rooms that have been installed, the security and health problems, and the services and logistics for the companies that work there. Intercargo's equipment has been improved, and the transportation of fruit from the terminal to the platform is faster. “We have been operating with the same airlines for several years and have improved working conditions year after year.”
«Shipping will be more frequent, as long as the fruit is harvested on time», Explain. It is not easy to confirm the number of flights. Because there are four types of aircraft with capacity for 50, 80 or 100 tons, the number of flights will depend on which airplane is used.
Probably the export markets will be the same as in previous years: United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain, Ireland, Brazil, Malaysia, Russia, Qatar, Italy, Bahrain and the Arab Emirates.
