Argentina and Uruguay sign agreement to produce Australian nursery blueberries

The companies Extraberries SA and Gamorel SA obtained the license to produce and commercialize a set of blueberry varieties developed by the Australian nursery Mountain Blue Orchards (MBO).

Said nursery is known for inventing the famous Eureka variety.

The agreement, which will allow them to work exclusively in Argentina and Uruguay, arose after three years of research between company technicians and negotiations with phytosanitary organizations of both countries.

Extraberries is positioned in Argentina and Gamorel in Uruguay, as leading companies in innovation and quality; In addition to being the only ones authorized to produce these varieties, recognized worldwide for their flavor, size, firmness, color and post-harvest life.

Initiative

The initiative adds to the work that both companies have been doing in terms of conversion of productive fields. This involves technology related to nutrition and irrigation based on the principles of hydroponics.

"This agreement for us represents continuing in the race, providing a better future for our fields and work teams, moving towards the latest generation in plant genetics, and consolidating ourselves in extremely demanding markets as evidenced by Chinese, American and European consumers," he said. the president of Extraberries and Gamorel, Adolfo Storni.
