BerryWorld Iberia: 10 years of growth, cultivating innovation and future alliances
Since its creation in 2016 as a strategic platform to coordinate the group's operations in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and, more recently, Egypt, BerryWorld Iberia has experienced continuous development. This has gone hand in hand with the growth of the BerryWorld group, culminating in the integration with AgroBerries in 2024, resulting in the second largest berry platform in the world.
Sustained growth in Iberia driven by varietal innovation
During these ten years, the company has progressively expanded its structure and operational capacity, going from 2 employees in 2016 to almost 50 in 2026, and reaching a turnover of 71 million euros in 2025.
“In agriculture, 10 years is a significant milestone. What we have achieved represents the combined effort of farmers, customers, internal teams, and strategic partners who have supported our growth,” says Iván Leache, the company’s CEO. “Today, over 90% of our production is based on our own varieties, an achievement that reflects years of work, investment, and mutual trust.”

The commitment to genetics and varietal development has been one of the cornerstones of BerryWorld Iberia's growth. The company has access to its own exclusive varietal programs, internationally recognized for their quality and flavor.
Many of these varieties were initially evaluated at the BerryWorld Iberia trial field in Cartaya (Huelva), which has allowed testing and adapting new genetic materials to the production conditions of southern Europe, ensuring that they meet the demands of the European market.

An international celebration with key partners
The anniversary celebration brought together in Huelva more than 120 attendees from a dozen countries, including employees, partners, producers, customers and key suppliers, as well as international representatives from the BerryWorld and AgroBerries divisions.
During the celebration, Iván Leache presented several acknowledgments, including mentions of BerryWorld Group founder Adam Olins and AgroBerries CEO Jorge Andrés Varela.
“I am very proud of what Iberia has achieved in this decade. A model that began similarly to BerryWorld in England and has been strengthened, despite the challenges, thanks to the work of Iván and his team together with new farmers from Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Egypt,” highlighted Adam Olins, founder of BerryWorld Group.

“Congratulations to the BerryWorld Iberia team for everything they have achieved in these ten years. I am sure that, together with AgroBerries, new opportunities will arise and we will continue to reap success and develop the soft fruit market, with Iberia as a key region for the group,” said Jorge Varela, CEO of AgroBerries.
Today, revenue originating in Iberia within the group of companies represents more than €300 million, reflecting the strategic importance of the production region to the global business. “The most important thing is everything we can still build together. We have talent, extraordinary producers, genetics, and a market. That's why we face the coming years with confidence, determination, and a tremendous desire to keep moving forward,” says Leache.
