Camposol increases EBITDA and expects Peruvian avocado sales in the third quarter

Camposol Holding PLC, a Peruvian multinational dedicated to providing fresh and healthy food worldwide, announced its preliminary financial results as of June 30, 2024. At a press conference, Ricardo Naranjo, interim CEO of the company, indicated that the company's sales reached US$182 million, reflecting an increase of 18% compared to the first half of 2023.

“Our EBITDA increased to US$61.7 million, marking a remarkable growth of 84% over the same period. Finally, our net profit reached US$19.3 million, almost equaling the total profit generated in the entire year 2023,” said Orange tree.

He added that these achievements were possible thanks to the performance of the mango and blueberry businesses, as well as the coordination throughout the value chain, which played a crucial role in overcoming the challenges of the industry, Fresh Plaza reported.

Progress by segments

In the segment avocadosCamposol had a solid first campaign in Colombia, achieving a 60% increase in volume and a 66% higher price compared to the first season of 2023 in that country. Avocado is a seasonal crop and the harvest season in Peru begins in the second quarter.

“During the first half of 2024, our avocado sales increased by 76% compared to the same period in 2023, driven by 37% higher volume and 29% higher price,” the executive said.

In the segment blueberries, volume grew 10.2% compared to the first half of 2023, with sales of US$127.2 million. The volume sold exceeded 18,000 metric tons, while revenue increased by 26.1%, with gross profit growing by 19.8%.

"Despite the market dynamics leaning towards price normalization due to increasing volumes of Peru and the Chilean campaign, our coordinated efforts between field operations and distribution companies, coupled with direct engagement with key retailers, resulted in a strategic allocation priced higher than in the first half of 2023,” destacó.

In the segment mango, despite a 34.2% decrease in volume compared to the first half of 2023, sales amounted to US$33.1 million. The volume sold reached 13,800 tons, while revenue increased by 8.1%, with gross profit growing by 113%.
