Chile is the second world exporter of frozen fruits

Chile became the world's second exporter of frozen fruits with 367 million dollars in 2014, behind Poland, which sells US $ 529 million. In vegetables, meanwhile, occupies the place 27 ° in value. More than 80% of these shipments correspond to berries, which indicates a diversification of products, said Gonzalo Bachelet, president of the frozen food industry of Chilealimentos in the annual meeting of that industry.

Bachelet stressed that the international market of frozen products, with business for US $ 17.883 million, is sufficiently large and has an interesting growth dynamic to project increases in the Chilean supply without affecting the global equilibria, since it represents the 6% of the offer world in fruits and the second place among the countries that obtain the highest sales in dollars.
