Chile together with Australia, Brunei, Canada, Myanmar, New Zealand and Singapore affirm their commitment to guarantee the connectivity of supply chains in the face of the COVID-19 situation.
The COVID-19 pandemic is a serious global crisis. As part of our collective response to combat COVID-19, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, New Zealand and Singapore pledge to keep supply chains open and connected. Furthermore, we will work closely to identify and address trade disruptions that may affect the circulation of essential supplies.
We recognize that it is in everyone's interest to ensure that our business links remain open, including by air and sea, in order to facilitate the flow of essential goods and supplies.
We affirm the importance of refraining from imposing unnecessary export controls or tariff and non-tariff barriers, and the importance of removing at this time all restrictive measures on trade in essential goods, especially those affecting medical supplies.
We are committed to working with all like-minded countries to ensure the free flow of trade, and to ensuring that critical infrastructure such as air and sea ports remain open in order to support the viability and integrity of global supply chains.
