Chile submits request to Indonesia for its fruit to re-enter through the Port of Jakarta
Two important meetings were held between Chile and Indonesia within the framework of the last stop of a public-private tour that representatives of the Chilean export and phytosanitary sector made in Asia.
Among the many bilateral cooperation issues addressed, Chile submitted to Indonesia a request for the Chilean export fruit to enter through the Port of Jakarta as it did until the year 2011, when the entrance to Surabaya, a very distant port of the consumption centers.
The Indonesian authority undertook to visit Chile between November and December of this year, a trip that would verify the program of monitoring and control of fruit fly carried out by the Chilean Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG).
For its part, the Indonesian government informed the Chilean representatives of a new regulation on food safety that will come into force in the first quarter of 2016.
