Cuna de Platero's firm commitment to R&D aimed at obtaining new varieties has resulted in the cooperative's first variety of blueberries: Cupla, characterized by its earliness, production efficiency, size and good taste. .

Cuna de Platero works in this line, with its own variety development programs and participating in programs of other breeders. The objective of the cooperative is to offer the best fruit throughout the year, with the best service and quality to its customers and the population.

The pandemic initially stopped production and all work processes, as happened in all social and economic areas. However, Cuna de Platero, being part of one of the essential sectors, such as food, did not stop. That has allowed them to maintain production, employment and sales.

Thus, in the last campaign, Cuna de Platero has produced 46.000 tons of strawberries, 2.000 tons of blueberries, 2.000 tons of raspberries, 100.000 kilograms of blackberries and 50.000 kilograms of pitahaya.

In these complex years, Cuna de Platero has worked to implement all the prevention protocols and security measures necessary to maintain its activity and continue to grow.

The philosophy and values ​​of the cooperative remain the same. However, they claim to have learned many things in these years of pandemic: the preventive measures and work protocols implemented, in addition to Covid19, have helped prevent many diseases. And the digitization of all processes has been key.

Health is now more than ever a priority for the entire population and also for the cooperative. In their case, due to the activity they carry out: the production and commercialization of red fruits - strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries - the promotion of health is in their DNA and in their social purpose as a company.
