Dina Boluarte highlighted planned growth: “China is a model”

We were able to get our pecans, chestnuts, frozen avocados, mangoes and frozen blueberries into the eastern country.

For the second time, the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, gave an interview to the CCTV-13 channel of China, whose journalist came to Peru within the framework of APEC 2024.

The president said that China is a model for growth and highlighted the diplomatic relations that Peru has maintained with the Asian country for five decades.

"A city like Shenzhen, which used to be a fishing port, will be a cosmopolitan city in 50 years, but also one with cutting-edge technology," he said in an interview at the Government Palace.

The head of state said that growth like China's does not happen overnight, but is the result of public policies and planning implemented over years. In this regard, she indicated that Peru aspires to follow China's example.

Avocados, mangoes, blueberries, chestnuts

During the APEC Economic Leaders Week, held in Lima from November 9 to 16, significant steps were taken to boost our agricultural exports to China.

Pork and beef are also included in these products. Approval of the agreements to export pomegranates is still pending, said the head of MIDAGRI, Ángel Manero.

According to the Andina agency, the same path will be followed, but in 2025, by pitahaya, cherry and blueberry seedlings.

Additionally, the launch of the Chancay port puts chicken meat on display, a product with great potential to be exported to China thanks to the lower cost of freight and the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that we have with that country.
