Driscoll's appoints chief operating officer and expands its global strategic structure

The company is strengthening its executive team with new roles focused on supporting the international expansion of its business model and strengthening financial and corporate planning on a global scale.

Driscoll's announced two executive appointments to support the long-term strategy driven by its CEO, Soren Bjorn, aimed at scaling the company's business model globally and replicating in other markets the approach developed in the United States.

Within this framework, Wyard Stomp was appointed Chief Operating Officer, a newly created position he will assume while continuing his current responsibilities leading the business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In this new role, he will work alongside the executive team to implement the company's strategy, leading cross-functional initiatives and supporting execution aligned with the company's global plans.

Stomp joined Driscoll's in 2012 and has since held senior management positions in both Europe and the United States, including Commercial Director for the Americas. His career includes experience in more than 20 countries across the EMEA region.

Shaily Sanghvi, currently Chief Financial Officer for the Americas, will expand her role to also assume global responsibility for strategy. In this new position, she will oversee financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and the company's strategic planning. Sanghvi has experience in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and finance, gained in previous roles at PepsiCo and Del Monte.

“For more than a century, Driscoll's has focused on one thing: cultivating the berries "Fresh, finer, and tastier, and delight the consumers who love them," said Soren Bjorn.

“Becoming the second-largest food and beverage retailer in the United States proves that a brand built on taste and quality can outperform even iconic names in the food industry. But this is just the beginning of what’s possible globally. Our people are our greatest strength, and Wyard and Shaily provide us with the operational and strategic foundation to scale our model with discipline and purpose for the next decade and beyond.”

The company has maintained its focus on the berries fresh, relying on investments in product development and a network of independent producers that allows for sustained supply at different times of the year.

Meanwhile, the fresh berry category continues to expand globally, driven by consumption patterns that continue to favor this type of fruit. In this context, Driscoll's is focused on ensuring continuity of supply, maintaining production systems, and investing in operational processes that support its international growth.
