Example to imitate ...? In blueberries, Peruvians are heads

For Chileans, and we imagine that for all Latin Americans, it is rare to find women in charge of farms and fields. In all countries there are, it is true, but in the amount that we are in Peru is difficult to overcome.

Within the framework of the Second International Seminar Blueberries Consulting - AGQ International, which took place last June's 18 at the JW Marriott in Lima, the Peruvians stood out by participating at all stages of the event.

We were able to converse with several of them and they told us about their experience leading crops in the most varied facets of the production process.

Melissa Paita, agronomist and crop manager of La Venta Agricultural, told us about her responsibility in the control of the experimental crops that the Agrícola maintains in Huarmey, north of Lima.

Lady León, an agronomist and head of the Agrícola Espiritu Santo farm, told us about her three years' experience in managing ten hectares of blueberries that in the short term will become twenty hectares. She is also responsible for the experimental cultivation centers, where with three hundred plants designed for that purpose they develop an experimental work.

Peruvian Chiefs 2Agronomists from Arequipa, Ica, Cañete, Guadalupe and from different places, both from Lima and from Peru in general, attended. They have responsibilities on crops that have to face different realities, such as fields with total absence of rains, passing through temperate costino climates to fields of humid or rainy environments.

At the Second International Blueberries Seminar held in Lima, the presence of young Peruvian professionals was very prominent, and among them, Peruvian women with headquarters within the fields of cultivation in that country, both in the medium responsibilities and in the major responsibilities of the garden and the productive process in general.
