Our country will reach the 30 thousand hectares for berries (blueberries, raspberry, aguaymanto, strawberry and blackberry), dedicated to export and in order to supply the world market that wants this type of products, said the president of Sierra Exportadora, Alfonso Velásquez.

"Our forecast is that for the 2021 year among all these crops and the innovation that the Government develops in the Andes, we must be reaching the 30 a thousand new hectares dedicated to producing what the world market wants and involving the Peruvian highlands in the success of agroexportation "he said.

Velasquez said that by taking into account the possible success of this type of product, the Peru Berries Program was created, which prioritized its support to small, medium and large producers, including the rural population.

In this regard, he explained that 7 is expected to have a thousand hectares of blueberry for the 2021, as well as continue to support raspberry crops, the latter with a greater presence in small producers.

"This product (raspberry) has a high global demand, 200 is produced a thousand tons in the whole world, Chile has an agricultural unit 0.6 hectare, here we want to be one hectare for raspberry", Anadio.
