Spain: First “Berry School” in Malaga

The first “berry school” (“Berry School”) will be a course organized according to GoodBerry's objectives and will be aimed at researchers, technicians and experts investigating the berry sectors and berry production. themselves, since it will address various topics related to the industry. In addition to classes on plant genetics and physiology and fruit quality control, the week-long program will also include an excursion to Huelva, Spain's main strawberry-producing region. The course sessions will be held from March 21 to 24 at the University of Malaga.

Specific sessions on plant genetics and physiology and quality control of fruits:
  • Tools for phenotyping and obtaining "berries"
  • Cultivation techniques to stabilize performance and prolong seasons
  • Development of molecular markers for marker-assisted selection (MAS)
  • How to produce good quality berries
