Fruit exports in Chile record growth of 4,3% during last year
A growth of 4,3% in the volume of exports of fruits of Chile was registered during the last year, reaching 2.597.756 tons of food sent, informed the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile (Asoex).
Within the total, table grapes appear as the most exported fruit, reaching 732.498 tons; which means an increase of 6,5% with respect to the previous period. Up close are the red apples, with 616.694 tons and the kiwis with 179.393.
On the other hand, avocados have increased their exports considerably; an 36,5%, while pears, cherries and blueberries they also met positive numbers (17%, 13,8% and 13,7% respectively), Diario Financiero reported.
Finally, the markets to which Chile exports are mainly composed of 5 countries (60% of total): United States (869.296 tons), China (Hong Kong) (269.117 tons), The Netherlands (186.704 tons), Colombia (109.428) tons) and England (107.859 tons).
