Family Farms will import Chilean blueberry plants to produce in Pisco
The company Family Farms Peru received authorization from the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) for the entry into Peru of 157,248 blueberry plants from Chile. The import will go to a production area in Pisco (Ica).
In accordance with Directorial Resolution D000001-2024-MIDAGRI-SENASA-DSV, the arrival of said plants will be made in three shipments during this month of January, through the Santa Rosa Border Complex located in the department of Tacna.
After the plants have been inspected and samples are obtained for verification phytosanitary diagnosis at the point of entry into Peru, the refrigerated vehicles with the blueberry plants will be officially sealed. After this process, the units will be immediately transferred to the authorized production site in Humay (Pisco, Ica).
In this place, post-entry quarantine monitoring will be carried out. The costs represented by the transfers must be assumed by the importer.
Import requirements
Blueberry plants imported to Peru must be packaged in the same conditions that were certified by the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) of Chile, without evidence that seals or other security measures have been violated or adulterated. Otherwise, the entry of the shipment into the country will not be authorized.
Likewise, the containers must be packaged in such a way as to facilitate phytosanitary inspection at the point in Peru.
Blueberry plants must be transported in clean, refrigerated, closed and sealed vehicles.
Upon arrival at the authorized production site (Humay) for post-entry quarantine monitoring, shipments must be inspected by Senasa, Agraria.pe reported.
