Strike ends at US ports

Following a provisional agreement by workers on wages and contract extension, the strike that had affected ports on the East Coast and the Gulf Coast since the beginning of the week has ended.

Below we share the most important points:  

  • The International Longshoremen's Association and the United States Maritime Alliance, Ltd. have reached a tentative agreement on wages
  • It has been agreed to extend the contract until January 15, 2025
  • The contract extension will serve to return to the negotiating table to negotiate the pending requests.
