Fruit Attraction opens its doors tomorrow

The international fruit and vegetable fair, FRUIT ATTRACTION, organized by IFEMA and FEPEX, begins tomorrow, Wednesday, its ninth edition in halls 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Feria de Madrid, with 1.500 exhibiting companies, a 20% more than in the last edition and 45.000 net square meters of exhibition, 10% more. The commercial activity will be completed by a large number of activities and parallel conferences, among which stand out single-product conferences such as Lettuce Attraction: the world of leafy vegetables”, Stone Fruit Attraction or the Global Fresh Market Forum that will host business meetings with Brazil and China, guest importing countries this year.

In this year's edition, the Fresh Produce segment, which mostly covers producers-exporters of fresh fruits and vegetables and also includes exhibitors of IV and V range, frozen and dehydrated; fruit and vegetables for processing, etc. will be the one that will once again occupy the largest space, as in previous editions, with 70% of the Fruit Attraction offer. The fair also has an important weight of the Auxiliary Industry, with 30% and in which exhibitors of seeds, fertilizers, agronutrients, phytosanitary, nurseries and pre-harvest are included; Transport and logistics; packaging and labeling; postharvest; Smart agro; point of sale and services.

These figures confirm the confidence of the sector in Fruit Attraction, whose success lies mainly in the great interest of the Spanish fruit and vegetable market for international marketing, and in the commitment of companies to go to Madrid in a key month for campaign planning. In this sense, the Fair will once again have the presence of practically all of the autonomous communities that produce fruit and vegetables in the country -Aragón, Andalucía, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, Canarias, Cataluña, Comunidad Valenciana, Extremadura, La Rioja , Navarra, among others-.

In relation to international participation, countries like France, with 117 companies; Italy, with 113; Portugal, with 41, and the Netherlands, with 31, lead the foreign presence, also counting with the participation of exhibitors from Poland, Greece, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland. Outside the European sphere, countries such as Colombia, Israel, Senegal or South Africa are incorporated, which effectively confirms Fruit Attraction as a key commercial event for production, marketing and worldwide distribution.

The wide program of parallel days begins today, Tuesday, with the Sixth International Conference of Postharvest, in which scientists, researchers and specialists from different parts of the world will address all aspects related to postharvest fruit and vegetables, from production to production. distribution and sale. Sponsored by the International Association of Horticultural Sciences and organized by the Miguel Hernández University of Alicante, and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), in particular, the Center for Edaphology and Applied Biology of Segura, located in Murcia, will take place from today until Friday, the day that concludes Fruit ATTRACTION, with face-to-face sessions in Madrid and a trip to Alicante.

The ninth edition of Fruit Attraction will take place in the 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 pavilions of Feria de Madrid, from 18 to 20 in October from 9.30h to 19.00h, and until 16.00 on the last day of celebration .
