Red fruits: Professionals meet in conclave in Tangier
La 33rd edition of the international seminar on red fruits This was celebrated Wednesday in Tangier, with the presence of a meeting of producers, professionals and international experts, with the aim of discussing the latest advances in the production and marketing of red fruits worldwide.
This event, organized by the international company Blueberries Consulting, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (CCIS-TTA), the Regional Chamber of Agriculture, the export development office of the Chilean Embassy in Rabat, the Moroccan Interprofessional Federation of Red Berries and the Association of Red Berries Producers aim to explore new techniques for the production, conservation and export of blueberries, and to follow the evolution of the international market.
This seminar brought together representatives of 300 industrial, logistics and agricultural companies specialized in the production and export of red fruits, as well as international experts from Morocco, Chile, Peru, France, Italy, Poland, Spain and Türkiye, among others.
It offered Moroccan companies a valuable opportunity to discover international experiences in this field, strengthen their skills in the cultivation, processing and marketing of blueberries and small red fruits, and explore partnerships to develop exports in the sector.
The presentations also addressed the situation of blueberry and berry production in Morocco and internationally, with analyses of local and global markets, the characteristics of the main varieties of berry and their genetic improvement, modern production, irrigation and storage techniques, the importance of training specialized human resources in the sector, as well as the global competition situation between producers.
“Update on the Moroccan blueberry market: production, marketing and genetics”, “Analysis of the global market and competitors of Moroccan blueberries” and “Blueberry production in Peru: the importance of genetics”, or even “Design of irrigation programs to optimize resources, photosynthesis and the development of the biomass of red fruits” are some of the topics covered during this seminar.
