Technical tour of almond trees in Spain 2019
Sunnyridge nurseries, the IRTA Agroalimentary Research and Technology Institute and Agricultural Seminars come together to carry out a "Technical Almond Tour in Lérida, Spain" and present the 4 new varieties of almond trees: VAIRO, MARINADA, CONSTANTÍ and TARRACO, attend technical talks , visit variety gardens, commercial farms and know machinery for harvesting and processing plants.
These new varieties of almonds, given their main characteristics such as self-fertility, flowering and late harvest, easy mechanization, hard shell and aptitude for fresh consumption or industrialization, become a highly profitable solution and option to use degraded, marginal soils, little availability of water or human resources.
The 01, 02 and 03 of July are the dates chosen for this tour in the city of Lleida, very close to Barcelona in Spain. As a target audience we have thought of a program specially prepared for potential investors, consultants, advisors and senior management from Chile, Peru and Spanish speaking countries where you can interact with IRTA specialists and geneticists who have developed these varieties.
