The export of strawberries and blueberries in the first half of the year reaches 1.280 million euros

According to the data published today by the Customs Department of the Tax Agency and analyzed by FEPEX, the Spanish fruit and vegetable export maintains positive behavior in the first half of 2024, rising to 6.652.549 tons (+6,32%) and a value of 10.069 million euros (+1,81%). The growth is observed both in the chapter related to fresh vegetables and in the chapter related to fresh fruits.

La export of fresh vegetables amounted to 3.298.611tn (+8.46%), while the value, which amounts to 4.724 million euros, fell 2.64%. In this chapter it is worth highlighting that exports are growing in all major products, pepper 467.483tn (+11.8%), tomato 425.852tn (+16%), lettuce 447.217tn (+2.84%), cabbage 382.275tn (+9%), zucchini 240.820tn (+3.27%), onion 127.326tn (+7.72%).

However, a significant drop is also observed in the average value of all these products, but the good performance of the potato which grows significantly in volume and value, with 162.127tn for a value of 105 million euros.

La fresh fruit export, amounted to 3.353.938tn (+4.29%) for a value of 5.344 million euros (+6.10%). The strawberry stands out for its growth with 248.430tn (+3.15) and a value of 761 million euros (+12.19%), the blueberry with 81.286 tn (+22.87%) and a value of 519 million euros (+18.36%), the avocado with 79.518tn (+11.64%) and 255 million euros (+15.62%), the nectarine with 111.238tn (+21.53%) and 204 million euros (+15.52%), Paraguayan with 65.858tn (+21.14%) for 120 million euros (+21.95%).

With the opposite sign are the watermelon with 359.518tn (-10.71%) and 281 million euros (-4.94%), melon with 143.440tn (-6.9%) and a value of 155 million euros (+4.53%).

To FEPEX the positive behavior of exports has continued in all months of the first semester, with the exception of the month of March, reflecting the strength of European demand for fruits and vegetables.
