Raspberry and blueberry from Huelva arrive with rising prices at the end of the season

The raspberry and blueberry campaigns faced their end in Huelva with a rebound in their prices, according to the Observatory of Prices and Markets of the Junta de Andalucía in the last report of red fruits corresponding to weeks 24 and 25.

According to the document, the average prices of raspberries in the last two weeks recorded increases of 12,5% ​​in week 24 and 0,7% in week 25. Thus, in week 25 the average price of raspberry stood at € 5,80 / kg, a value significantly higher than the price of the same week in 2020 (€ 4,71 / kg).

The raspberry campaign was practically over at that time, estimating that since the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign (week 36 of 2020), 99,7% of what is expected in the total campaign had been marketed. , taking into account the average production marketed in the period 2016 / 17-2018 / 19.

As for blueberry, the average prices at origin of the last two weeks recorded increases of 0,8% in week 24 and 12,5% ​​in week 25. In week 25 the price stood at 4,05 € / kg, a value that, despite the consecutive increases, was lower than the 4,78 € / kg registered in the same week of 2020.

It is estimated that from the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign (week 1 of 2021) 100,0% of what is expected in the total of the campaign has been marketed, taking into account the average production marketed in the 2016 period / 17-2018 / 19, so the campaign can be practically ended.
