Blueberries Consulting: "Do you want to be part of the annual Mediterranean Red Fruit Producers Meeting? Sponsorships available."

The berry industry will meet again in Tangier

We're approaching a new International Seminar on Red Fruits in Morocco, which will be held on September 10th in Tangier, a permanent location for this event. Industry leaders, researchers, and specialists will participate in the meeting, which will be part of a comprehensive program that will address the most relevant aspects of modern production, commercial opportunities, and market realities.

"A well-attended event is expected, surpassing the 2024 event, which included participants from Peru, Chile, Mexico, the USA, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, England, Poland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Turkey, Jordan, and Morocco, as well as other countries seduced by the beauty and flavor of berries."

"In Morocco, Blueberries Consulting's International Seminars are a driving force in the development of the berry export industry, with the goal of strengthening it as a modern, technologically advanced, professional, and well-managed industry, as has been the case in Chile, Mexico, and particularly Peru."

Competitive advantages
Morocco has established itself as a key player in the production and export of berries. "With production spanning ten months of the year, the country has become a strategic supplier to Europe and other regions. The Moroccan climate allows for the production of berries in months when other competitors cannot supply the market. This gives the country an advantage in the early supply of fruit, especially in winter. Furthermore, the constant introduction of new varieties has improved the quality and adaptability of crops to the demands of the international market."

"These conditions and Morocco's privileged geographical location in relation to Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa, and even Asia, which will be the main market center in the near future, make it an irreplaceable location and the city of Tangier a strategic area located on the edge of the continents, where industry can develop and grow at unlimited levels."

Strategic location
The International Red Fruit Seminar in Tangier also welcomes producers from neighboring countries, both in Africa and Europe. "It will be a great opportunity for the young Portuguese industry, which has already reached a planted area of 3.000 hectares in blueberries alone. Added to this is the significant presence of the experienced Spanish industry, both producers and entrepreneurs, and especially investors."

"At the previous seminar in 2024, in addition to the 15 international speakers and a comprehensive thematic program, there was a notable presence of stakeholders from almost all European countries, along with many Latin American and North American participants, as well as attendees from various African and Asian countries, not just China. The 2025 edition is expected to exceed that attendance at the Royal Tulip City Center Hotel, with a larger number of companies interested in the significant growth of the Moroccan industry and its strong market positioning."

Leading industry
Regarding industry projections, Morocco is making progress in increasing its blueberry production, including more competitive varieties and adopting technologically advanced management systems, such as hydroponics. The country is developing strategies to extend its season and maintain supply for all 52 weeks or most of them. It is expanding cultivation to southern regions for earlier harvests and to the Atlas Mountains for later or later harvests. This strategic expansion is expected to further improve Morocco's competitiveness in the global blueberry market.

«In this scenario, the XXXVIII International Seminar on Red Fruits 2025 at the Royal Tulip City Center Hotel in Tangier on September 10th, is presented as a determining factor for the potential development of the Moroccan berry industry, as it finds itself in full growth and consolidation as a leading player in the global export industry.
