The blueberry industry advances without windows or borders

If we add to this the displacement of capital and ownership of large companies, acquired by others or sharing participation, we have a scenario that lacks national elements in its corporate physiognomy.

The year is not over yet and the most informed analysts in the industry are already publishing their analyzes and projections of the future of the blueberry industry in the short and medium term, establishing the bases from which any planning can begin.

In the vast majority there is a consensus that the demand for blueberries in this decade will exceed the supply of fruit in the market, despite the fact that everything indicates that 3 million tons will be produced before 2030, an extraordinary growth if we consider that currently the figures reach 1.8 million. But, despite this growth, demand will exceed supply, which makes the activity sustainable over time.

No windows or borders

The commercial windows that existed and that favored the entry and growth of the countries that produced in counter-season, no longer exist.

What does not exist either are the national borders of the industry, since little by little the agricultural companies have been changing their flags. First there were Chilean technicians and businessmen who traveled to Peru, then Spanish companies arrived in Morocco and today it is Peruvian businessmen who are settling in Sinaloa and different Mexican regions, among many other displacements of blueberry businessmen who have broken with the national borders of the industry, globalizing it even more.

If we add to this the displacement of capital and ownership of large companies, acquired by others or sharing participation, we have an absolutely international scenario or one that lacks national elements in its corporate physiognomy.

Markets

Clearly, what is sought is proximity to the markets, in the cases mentioned, it is about approaching the US and Europe, but there are already some businessmen who are arriving in China, and India is considered a target in the short term. term. As we can see, the blueberry industry does not stop, it is dynamic, it is growing, it has a permanent presence in the market and it is essentially global, without windows or borders of any kind.

This phe It will be held in Agadir, Morocco, next September.

The growth in demand and the analysts' forecasts, in the sense that we are at the beginning of a second wave of consumption, motivate the different players in the industry to advance in these surprising measures for the environment, which in another case or other moments would appear as adventurous and incomprehensible.
