They launch new container on-the-go for berries

Special Fruit has launched a new resealable packaging design - punnet type - for its BerryFresh range that includes strawberries and blueberries. All with the purpose of conquering consumers, making these fruits a food on-the-go

The Belgian fruit importer said that sales in the berry categories have been steadily increasing as a result of consistent quality, new flavor varieties and the trend towards healthier eating by consumers.

In that sense, the director of purchases of Special Fruit, Ben Maes, believes that the so-called soft fruits have evolved from an exclusive specialty to a daily food for the most demanding consumers of today.

"In light of these developments, we have re-evaluated the packaging requirements that will prepare Berry Fresh for a healthy future"He said.

"We have developed new labels, the best stamps, shakers and punnets to reflect a single market movement. Improved functionality and consumer comfort include the best resealable containers and shakers, for moments between snacks, and the flexibility to include new varieties when they appear"He commented.

Maes added that the resealable packaging also maintains the quality of the berries and prolongs their shelf life.

"Beyond comfort, the resealable packaging reduces waste, preserves freshness and allows easy access and easy transportation"He said.

"The new design looks fresh and has a bit of fun in it, while retaining the natural and fresh look. Includes the image of a hand picking fruit, because our berries are delicate fruits that need to be handled with care and are also perfect as an on-the-go snack"He concluded.
