Morocco's Exports Hit New Records, Overcoming Post-Covid-19 Fears
Exports of Morocco have increased considerably over the last five years, reaching their higher levels registered, confirming the resilience of the country's economy and its recovery after the covid-19 crisis.
During the first seven months of 2021, Moroccan exports increased 23,2% to more than $ 19 billion compared to the figures registered in the same period of the last five years, according to the latest data published by the Moroccan Foreign Exchange Office.
The rebound in Morocco's foreign trade with its partners was driven by good performance in the main industrial sectors, including the automotive sector, which recorded an increase in 38% in exports reaching $ 5 billion, phosphates and derivatives (+ 30,3%) and textiles and leather (+ 23,7%).
According to the projection of the Central Bank of Morocco, The country's economic growth is expected to reach 5,3% in 2021 and consolidate to 3,3% in 2022 due to an increase in the added value of non-agricultural activities and a rebound in the agricultural sector.
