Red fruits reach historical export records with €1.025 million from January to May 2024

Huelva is the second most exporting province in Andalusia in the first five months of this year, with sales that add up 3.650 M€ and an increase in sales of +2,7%, mainly due to the increase in fuel sales and an increase in fruit exports. The province also records 20,2% of the total sales in Andalusia.

By products, they lead sales of fruits with €1.164M, and an increase of +12,1% with 32% of the province's total sales. This leadership is carried out, almost entirely, by red fruits that reach a historical sales record with €1.025 M and growth of +11,7% compared to the first five months of 2023.

In second place are fuels and mineral oils, with €899M (24,6%) and an increase of +15,2%; followed by slag and ash minerals, with €405M (11,1%) and a decrease of -20,5%.

As for the markets, Huelva has very diversified sales that reach the four continents in the first five months of 2024. France leads exports, with €386M and 10,6% of the total, with an increase of +85% and the highest growth in the Top10 ; followed by Italy, with €381M and 10,4% of the total and a drop of -16,6%; and Germany, with €372M (10,2%) and an increase of +19,8%.

The territorial delegate of Economy, Finance, European Funds and Industry, Energy and Mines in Huelva, Lucía Núñez, has highlighted that “Huelva returns to the path of growth and is positioned as the second exporter in Andalusia with more than 3.500 million euros of international business. The good news is that fruits lead the Huelva ranking, especially highlighting red fruit exports, which have reached historical record figures with more than 1.000 million euros in sales.

Núñez has also pointed out that “this year, the Internationalization area of Andalusia TRADE continues to promote the business fabric of the province, just as it did in 2023, when it provided support to 159 Huelva companies that participated in almost 200 foreign promotion actions.

Companies that mainly expressed great interest in markets such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France or the United Arab Emirates.”

Andalucía TRADE supports the internationalization of Huelva companies with a generic sectoral programming adapted to its export sector. In 2023, it generated 403 shares supporting the internationalization of more than a third of the province's regular exports.
