Peru: Exports of fresh blueberries grew in value 53,7%
During the first quarter of the year, Peruvian exports of fresh blueberries totaled US $ 7.368.081, which represented an increase of 53.7%, compared to the US $ 4.792.960 reached in the same period of the previous year.
This is indicated by the specialized portal AgrodataPerú, which also details that the volume was registered an increase of 43.9%, from 658.530 kilos exported in the first three months of 2014, to 947.612 kilos sent in the first quarter of this year.
The main destination market for Peruvian blueberries is the United States, which, in the period under study, acquired US $ 4.9 million, representing 66.5% of total sales. Other important destinations are Holland with U $ 1.3 million (18% of total); The United Kingdom concentrates the 14%, Hong Kong 1% and Costa Rica also 1%.
On the other hand, Peruvian blueberry exporters during the first quarter of the 2015 are: Camposol, whose shipments amounted to US $ 4.4 million (60% of the total), followed by TALSA with US $ 2.4 million (33%), Hortifrut- TALSAC (7%), Danper Trujillo (0.7%), Intipa Foods (0.1%), among others.

In the 2014, shipments of fresh blueberries from Peru totaled US $ 29.278.319, due to the shipment of 2.777.959 kilos of said fruit.
