Our country has an area of approximately 1.000 hectares of blueberries planted mainly in the regions of La Libertad, Ancash and Lima. It is expected that this area will increase in the next few years to some 4 thousand hectares, thanks to the fact that our soils and climate are very beneficial for the production of this fruit, which is highly appreciated by consumers in international markets due to its antioxidant power. Currently this fruit is exported to the United States, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong.
Canada and the United States are the first importers of fresh blueberries in the world, so access to this market creates a new opportunity for Peruvian producers and exporters to place a quality fruit that will quickly position itself in this market, favoring agricultural development From Peru.
