Peru: Senasa will promote the entry of blueberries in China
The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, José Manuel Hernández, announced today that the head of the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) will travel to China to accelerate sanitary protocols that allow the entry of cranberry and other Peruvian agricultural products.
"The head of Senasa will travel to China to accelerate health protocols with the purpose of facilitating access of blueberries and other Peruvian agricultural products to that market of 1,200 billion potential consumers"Pointed.
Minister Hernandez met with executives of the Foreign Trade Company (ComexPerú) to define strategies that allow continuing with the growth of agroexports and consolidate the Peruvian offer in international markets.
He also stressed that meetings with the various business associations will continue, and that new mechanisms are being sought to support agro-exporters.
"The phytosanitary aspects are important, as well as the logistics. For this reason, I believe that the participation of Senasa in these work tables will be very positive because, in this way, we will ensure the growth of our exports and the conquest of new markets worldwide ", he stressed.
Strategies to promote agro-exports will be supported and supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (Minagri) through the National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA).
In this way, it is sought to give value to all this productive chain of the country, because behind the big exporters are the main protagonists of the productive development of the men of the field, that is, the agricultural producers.

He also reaffirmed that the goal of the Minagri is to double agricultural exports to the 2021 year, with the support of the private sector, to reach the 10 one billion dollars.
He also reiterated that there are talks with the agro-export sector to establish a technological development fund, which serves not only to open markets, commercial intelligence and bring cutting-edge technology, "but also to support small farmers and close the technological gap".
