Peru and Mexico, two protagonists who will analyze the industry in the International Blueberry Month

Commercial issues, related to production, marketing and markets, and technical issues, directly related to the plant and farm, will be discussed. Health, safety and sustainability aspects will also be addressed, interspersed with post-pandemic scenario analyzes and the strategies necessary to successfully insert them.

In August, the International Blueberry Month, Miguel Bentín and Juan José Flores, representatives of two of the most successful countries in the production and export of blueberries in recent seasons, will be analyzing the development of their respective industries and the market prospects in the new scenarios that open up in the post-pandemic stage, both in opportunities and challenges.

Peru first

Miguel Bentín, director of Proarandanos - Peru, and renowned Peruvian producer, will be the protagonist of the first meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, August 05. It will be the opportunity to know first-hand the keys that explain the great growth of the Peruvian industry, which has reached the first place in the world in blueberry exports. The meeting will allow to know his vision on the future path that Peru will have to travel to consolidate this place reached and to insert itself correctly in the new scenarios of the world market in the post-pandemic stage.

Mexico grows

Juan José Flores, director of Aneberries - Mexico, will share with participants online on Tuesday, August 11, exposing on the versatile Mexican industry and its privileged experience in the North American markets, both fresh, processed or organic. It will be the opportunity to meet the gaze of the renowned Mexican executive regarding the future challenges of his industry in the face of the launch of the T-MEC and the new post-pandemic Covid-19 reality.

Two protagonists

The producers and exporters of Mexico and Peru have had a very important growth in their production volumes, planted area and maturation of their industries, and have been developing for some time an approach to different levels of connection, sharing experience, technology and management in the prospect of mutually enhancing each other, raising their levels of competitiveness.

This strategic proximity of both industries is based on the climatic similarity where they develop their cultivars, their interest in covering the North American market, and / or the long experience and knowledge in the cultivation of Biloxi, the main variety that both countries produce and export.

August, International Blueberry Month

These Professional Commercial and Technical Talks, organized by Agricultural Seminars, are scheduled to take place every Tuesday and Thursday in August, in order to celebrate International Blueberry Month. They will address the different aspects related to the current state of the crop, the industry and the markets.

  • Professional technical talks online every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. USA, 10:00 a.m. Mexico and Peru, 11:00 a.m. Chile, 16:00 p.m. Morocco, 17:00 p.m. Spain and South Africa.
