First bimester of 2017 marked the beginning of exports of Peruvian blueberries with values ​​lower than last year

Between January and February of this year, 2.3 million tons of the berry were shipped to foreign markets, a volume lower than the values ​​of the same period in 2016. 

Cranberry exports started this 2017 with volumes and values ​​lower than last year, a trend that will have to be observed in the coming months. Thus, according to information from AgrodataPerú, during the period January-February of this year, deliveries were made for 2.380.023 tons of the appreciated berry for an FOB value of US $ 12.577.868. The data are down when compared to the first two months of the 2016, when Peru exported 3.394.455 kilos of the fruit for a value of US $ 21.236.816.

According to the same source, during the first two months of the year the company that managed the most shipments abroad was Hortifrut - Tal SAC with sales of US $ 3.8 million. Next in importance are Talsa with US $ 3.5 million and Camposol with US $ 3.3 million.

The main destinations for the Peruvian blueberry were the United States, which received shipments for US $ 6.1 million (48% of the total), followed by the Netherlands with US $ 3.2 million (26%) and England with US $ 2.9 million (23%) .

The average price of the product in the international market has been US $ 5.28 per kilo.
