The president of APAMA, Alejandro Pannunzio, celebrated this morning the measure published today in the Official Gazette of the Argentine Republic that establishes the elimination of withholdings on the export of blueberries until July 31, 2021. The elimination of withholding taxes on blueberry production had been one of the central issues that producers had been demanding from the government of Alberto Fernández, which is why Pannunzio said this afternoon that "we received the news today with great joy, it is a very good measure that we came asking since January of this year, when Minister Basterra received us. It was a very important issue and a fundamental measure that we had been demanding. We see it as very positive ”, he assessed.

At the same time, the producer explained, however, that "we hope that after July 31 it will be extended because our export campaign is from September to November, and we would also have to see how what we already paid in this 2020 campaign can be compensated as credit." tax for those of us who have already closed exports and paid withholdings”.

Regarding the impact of the measure, Pannunzio explained that "our production employs more than 10 workers directly and indirectly in the area, for this reason, also in this very difficult year, we greatly appreciate the effort made to raise the 2020 harvest."
