Chancay Port will have new regional service to Chile starting in March

The number of services calling at the new Port of Chancay in Peru is increasing rapidly. Proof of this, according to reports Alphaliner, is the announcement of the launch of a new service by COSCO Shipping Lines that will sail to ports in the south-central region of Chile starting next March.
In detail, the new 'Chancay Express' ('CHX') service will call at the ports of Chancay, Lirquén, San Antonio, Chancay and, finally, Callao, on a two-week itinerary. For the moment, the service will be operated by a single ship, the 2.586 TEU “Lakonia”, which will begin its first itinerary from Chancay on March 8.
The 'CHX' is the fourth new service to call at Chancay, joining the 'WSA3' service of Cosco Shipping Lines on the Far East-WCSA route; the 'WSA5' / 'TLP5' service of COSCO Shipping Lines and its sister shipping line OOCL on the Far East-Mexico-WCSA route and the Chile-Peru Express 'CPX' regional service of X-Press Feeders.
The Port of Chancay, operated by COSCO Shipping Ports, was inaugurated in November last year and has an annual design capacity of 1,50 MTEUs.
