Blueberry Season is coming to an end with record volumes in exports.
According to information provided by the Cranberry Committee of Chile, through its Crop Report, prepared by IQonsulting, 11 shipped about 770 tons of fresh blueberries from Chile to the different destination markets, a figure that represented 5 % more than last season, and an 9% less than in 2012-2013.
With this volume, the cumulative exports to date reach a little more than 90.300 tons, that is, 22% more than what was sent on the same date of the 2013-014 season, and 5% more than at the same date of the 2012-2013 exercise. .
The Committee notes that the 90.300 figure is, to date, the maximum volume of fresh blueberries exported from Chile in all the campaigns.
During the 11 week, the main destination was USA. with 579 tons sent and a share of 75%. Europe was the second destination, with a share of 18% and 136 tons. Asia represented an 4% of shipments with 33 tons. From the total shipments until the 11 week, the USA / Canada represents an 67%, Europe an 23% and Asia an 10%.
