Senasa workers suspend strike after agreement on remuneration

The strike had been declared inadmissible by the MTPE. The general secretary of the union and the national head of Senasa signed the minutes of the meeting where a list of commitments was reached.

The indefinite strike called for Monday, September 26 by the Union of Workers of the National Agricultural Health Service (Senasa) was suspended after an agreement between both parties on the remuneration and economic conditions of the employees.

The general secretary of the Union, Mirna Altamirano, and the national head of Senasa, Miguel Quevedo, signed the minutes of the meeting that took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) in La Molina.

Among the commitments reached is the identification of activities aimed at managing the approval of a remuneration increase for the workers of the 728 Regime in order to level the loss of purchasing power due to the accumulated inflation since 2010. In addition, a monthly bonus for workers CAS of the entity, within the corresponding deadlines.

Another point was the exception of prohibitions of salary increases, bonuses, benefits, allowances, allowances, remuneration, incentives, incentives, economic compensation and concepts of any nature, whatever their form, modality, periodicity and source of financing.

Likewise, the prohibition of the approval of new bonuses, allocations, incentives, stimuli, remuneration, allowances, economic compensation and concepts of any nature with the same characteristics indicated in the budget law.

The Senasa union, attached to Midagri, had agreed to start an indefinite national strike starting this Monday due to Midagri's failure to meet its list of claims.

In the morning hours, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) declared the indefinite strike communication presented by the union inadmissible, as it had not complied with the requirements established in paragraph c) of article 73 of the Single Ordered Text of the Law on Collective Labor Relations, approved by Supreme Law No. 010-2003-TR and in literal a) of article 65 of the Regulations of the Law on Collective Labor Relations, approved by Supreme Law No. 011-92-TR and modified by Supreme Decree No. 014-2022-TR.
