Ukraine: the price of cranberry falls more than one 10%

Farmers explain that the low prices are due to the decrease in demand from exporters, while the volume of supply continues to increase every day, according to «APK- Іnform: Vegetables and Fruits».

Just at the beginning of the month, the registered price of blueberries in the market grew from 5,80 to 6,70 euros per kilo. As of July's 15, the real price seen in the domestic markets was between 5,00 and 5,80 euros per kilo.

Experts believe that the negative trend in the Ukrainian market was caused by lower prices in Russia, where Ukrainian farmers regularly send fruit. Earlier in the week it was reported that due to the influx of imports into Russia, blueberries became considerably cheaper.

It should be noted that Ukrainian blueberries cost today is between an 35 and 40% more than last year. However, farmers are confident that prices of berries will continue to decline until August, but the intensity of the fall in prices depends directly on the activities of the exporters and their prices.
