Wish Farms expands its program of Argentine blueberries
The Florida-based Wish Farms company estimates that its next blueberry program in Argentina will double in volume to what it was recorded last season and will have a smooth transition to what would be another great campaign from Chile.
While there will be a slight flow in early September, the company said that the first major volume of Argentina will be observed close to the first week of October.
"This season, our new partnership with a major producer helps solidify our Argentina program and stabilize the volume for our clients."Teddy Koukoulis, cranberry operations director at Wish Farms, said in a statement.
The company estimates that it will market around 1.5 millions of pounds of Argentine blueberries.
"Much of our Argentine harvest is grown under tunnels, providing coverage and protection from inclement weather such as rain, frost and hail"Explained JC Clinard, executive vice president of Wish Farms.
In preparation for the season, and as reported, weather conditions in Argentina have been very favorable, with adequate cold hours and the absence of severe weather events. As a result, the fruit quality and volume are expected to be excellent.
