Hortifrut's board of directors appoints Nicolás Moller as the new president of the company

Since 2008, he has held various positions within the company. For the past six years, he has served as Executive Vice President.

Santiago, January 5, 2023.- The Hortifrut board of directors, the world's leading business platform in the production and marketing of fresh and frozen berries, appointed Nicolás Moller (48) as the company's new president.

In its first session of the year, the board of directors proceeded to elect him to replace Víctor Moller Schiavetti, founder of Hortifrut and father of Nicolás, who passed away last October.

The appointment must be ratified by the shareholders at an extraordinary meeting to be held in April.

“Together with the management team, we will continue to advance my father's vision of making Hortifrut the global leader in its category, delivering berries to the world every day, always striving to be at the forefront of genetics, innovation and sustainability,” he commented. the new president of the company.

Nicolás Moller has held various positions at Hortifrut since 2008. Between January 2010 and September 2016, he held the position of CEO and, from 2016 onwards, he has served as Executive Vice President based in the United States.

Additionally, he is a director of Vitafoods, a leading company in the industry for value-added and frozen fruit, and Naturipe Farms, a leading berry company in the United States, and chairman of the board of the Chinese fruit company Honghe Jiayu Agriculture. All of them are linked to Hortifrut.

Previously, he was a board member of the Center for Growing Talent by PMA, the Chilean Exporters Association (ASOEX), the Chilean Blueberry Committee and the Finance Committee of the US Highbush Blueberry Council.

He started his career in 1999 at Ferrostaal in New York and then in Houston. Subsequently, he was the managing manager for VidaPlus Technologies in California. Between 2005 and 2008 he served as CEO of Hortisur in Chile.

Nicolás Moller is a commercial engineer from Finis Terrae University and has studies at various universities in Chile and the United States, including Columbia, the University of California Davis and Stanford.
